Products and ingredients. Welcome back to the Ristomanager Vlog, now in its seventh episode! In it, we will give you some hints on inserting your dishes, products and ingredients into the software. Everything can happen in a few simple steps.

Let's start by saying that Ristomanager divides the products into two main types. We refer to the Products in Stock and the Dishes.

Ristomanager has two main categories of products for sale. The first is made up of in-stock items, which can be purchased immediately and delivered to your home without any problem; while the second category consists of meals that need to be prepared but do not have a precise timing specified on them, so that they are ready when you are!

Products and ingredients

The first are usually all those products in packaging or in any case already ready to serve. Therefore we will have the possibility, since they are supposed to be stored in your warehouse, to store the Quantity, the Unit Price and other similar data. These are very useful for their storage.

Ristomanager is a tool to manage your food supplies. You can categorize products based on whether they are in stock or meals, and it will be easy to keep track of what you need at all times!
For example: if there is something on sale but not available as part of the weekly menu plan - such as chocolate bars during the holidays - then Ristoranteur can let me know about these offers through email notifications so that I don't forget them when the next check out day comes around again week.

Products of type Dishes, however, represent kitchen preparations, and unlike warehouse products, it is not necessary to know those data already mentioned, and in fact by selecting "Dish" as the product type, they are completely deactivated. It is possible to define the Ingredients from which the dish is composed, once the "Activate Ingredients" option has been selected; you can also define the cost of each ingredient, so as to be able to use the Ingredients also as Additions, at the time of the order and also establish the right price of the Dishes, to be included in the menu.

Once you have decided which type of product you are placing in the warehouse, you can assign it to a category, and you can also decide to hide this product or dish from the list on the tablets or when ordering from the management system installed on the computer, simply by removing the check mark from the "Display the product in orders" option in the product addition window. This will be very useful for all those products stored in multiple packages or which cannot be ordered by customers.

A very useful function is also the one that allows you to assign an image to a product of both types. You can also assign images to products with already existing ingredients or dishes, in this way they will be immediately recognizable inside the Quick Checkout, to speed up the takeaway department or bar service.
