Italian Cuisine Abroad

Italian cuisine abroad. Shiver…now. Is it a joke or maybe not? We know, we know. Generally our palate is definitely a little too refined to even allow us to imagine modifications to our most sacred recipes. We do not tolerate alterations and many times we even clash with each other because my grandmother's recipe is not the same as your grandmother's.

Try to imagine what our reaction could be to the alteration of our beloved Italian cuisine abroad.

The flavor of Italy is everywhere you go, and it's not just in your imagination. The culture has spread far beyond the country's borders with its rich culinary history for a reason: people love to eat!
Food abroad can be difficult at first because many cultures have their own unique flavors that have been created over time by different groups.

However, if one tries hard enough, one will find ways around these obstacles: such as finding out what type or style of cuisine one likes best (whether Italian, Mexican, Indian, etc.) and then making adjustments accordingly; learn which spices help create depth without overpowering other ingredients; ask questions about how certain dishes might be different depending on where/when someone was raised.

For the more than three million Americans who identify as linguine and spaghetti lovers, this question is a big deal. Do they know how to cook them? The answer seems to be “yes” But it turns out that not only people of Italian origin claim ownership of these tagliatelle or any other kind; some pasta lovers also come from Asian countries - especially Korea!

Drink cappuccino with practically any meal

The stranger sips cappuccino with spaghetti. A rather common belief sees us Italians always drinking cappuccino. Obviously, for us, milk is exclusively for breakfast!

Pasta and risotto as side dishes

Abroad, pasta is ordered accompanied by salad while, for us, pasta is a first course and salad a side dish. The pairing is alarming!

Ketchup on pasta, why?

Ketchup is used as a condiment on pasta, sometimes together with mayonnaise. Real pasta with tomato is solely the product of the fragrant union of fresh tomatoes and basil.

Seasonings in pasta water

Many foreign restaurants, having no idea how to prepare pasta, use pre-cooked pasta. Sometimes it is seasoned directly in the cooking water. What a pain! Furthermore, there is a common belief that adding oil during cooking prevents it from sticking to the bottom...er, no!

Pizza

The 'Pepperoni' is a pizza with salami that is very famous abroad and especially in the States. The confusion is dictated by the similarity with our poor peppers.

Americans have really taken to pizza. It's one of the most popular fast food restaurants in America today, which is interesting when you consider that it didn't exist until World War II, when soldiers brought their families here from Italy around that time, so that they could maintain some sense of culture among themselves while they were separated on missions or something.

The “fettuccine Alfredo”

Fettuccine Alfredo is another "Italian" dish that is very famous in the United States but in Italy it is really little known. They are egg fettuccine, with butter and parmesan cheese. One can easily imagine that the flavor of this dish is not even remotely similar to the Italian one. In any case it is possible to taste a delicious dish but it is necessary to go to a typically Italian restaurant. Don't miss a moment and taste the best Italian food in America.

Here are some strange uses and modifications of our Italian cuisine abroad.
