Napkin
The napkin is on the table for use and not for decoration, so you can use it when taking sips of water or wine at a formal dinner. It's unpleasant to see glasses greased by other people's lips - this would give a guest no idea how rude they may have been!

There is a mistaken belief that during meal breaks such as when getting up to refill your drink or use the bathroom, it is appropriate for cutlery to be on plates and bases to be seated facing each other. In fact, there is no more obvious indication of a violation of etiquette than this!

Position of plates and glasses according to table etiquette
The cutlery is on the sides of the plate, and so far no problems. On the right are the knives with the blade facing inwards; last but not least you will find a spoon on the outer edge closest to us where the forks go in order starting from the outer side towards the innermost section (the first one is the closest). Glasses should be placed near the center front high enough to be easily seen when sitting, while plates and bowls should rest off-center from each other rather than next to each other - this way everything has its own space without any overlap which will save a lot of time cleaning up later!

The mistake most people make is scooping up the last few spoonfuls by turning the plate or bowl towards them, instead of tilting it away from them and allowing for more control over what goes into their mouths. It is certainly necessary to mix the drink with great care to avoid getting dirty.
